The Food Forest
🌳 Low maintenance by design
A food forest mimics a natural woodland ecosystem - once established, it largely looks after itself. No digging, no annual replanting.
🍓 Produces food year-round
Layered canopy, understorey, shrub, herb and ground layers mean something is always in season - fruit, nuts, leaves, roots.
🌿 Better for soil and wildlife
Perennial root systems build soil rather than deplete it. Dense layering creates habitat corridors for insects, birds and small mammals.

A food forest can be adapted to a large border, a small garden, or even containers. We can advise on suitable species.
Folklore, Ritual & the Old Tradition
Alongside our food and native planting collections, we grow a range of plants with deep roots in British folklore, the hedgerow calendar, and the old herbal tradition. Plants for dye-making, apothecary work, ritual use and the magickal garden.
These come from our kitchen herb garden: small-batch, hand-grown, and chosen for their story as much as their practicality. You won't find most of them at a garden centre.

From our Hazel and Willow coppice, we make plant supports, firewood and bespoke woodwork to order.
Handmade from coppiced Hazel - decorative, functional and entirely natural. Custom sizes available.
Seasoned Hazel and Willow from our managed coppice, harvested on rotation to sustain the woodland.
